Copywriter. Creative director. Plant enthusiast. Say hello to Kyle.

Meet kyle

“Storytelling” might not be a common job at most businesses, but at VerdanaBold, it’s actually at the heart of what we do. That’s because great presentations, and great brand communications in general, tell a story.

That’s where Kyle comes in. As our new Creative Director of Storytelling, he helps to take a collection of slides and turn them into a cohesive, story-driven presentation. He also heads up our Branded Communications work, creating branded messages, social media posts, even videos and other collateral.

When he’s not writing stories for brands, you can find him tending to his houseplants, walking the 606, and endlessly rewatching the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons.

Learn more about Kyle in the Q&A below!

What do you most pride yourself on in your work for VerdanaBold?

Helping clients to communicate complex ideas in simple ways.

What aspect of your personality adds the most value to your work at VerdanaBold?

My passion for stories.

What is your favorite thing about working at VerdanaBold?

The people! Everyone is so smart, talented, and fun to be around.

Would you rather: no La Croix in the office fridge or no espresso machine on the office counter?

I’ll take water over caffeine anytime.

If you were to start a company from scratch, what values would you build it on?

People before profits.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

Visit Isle Royale, do a full backpacking trip, start a vegetable garden.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? (or) What is your favorite project you’ve worked on at VerdanaBold?

My favorite thing isn’t just one project, but the variety of clients I get to work with.

Who is your dream client to work with?

The Obama Foundation.

How do you measure the success of your work at VerdanaBold?

I’d like our clients to think, “I never could have achieved this without their help.”

What is your secret talent that no one knows about?

I can find the good in anything.

What are your best work from home tips?

The best way to be more productive at home is to get out of the house! Go for a walk, get a coffee (or tea), stop by the library. Getting some movement and sunshine will have huge benefits for your productivity.

What are your favorite restaurants in Chicago?

Since my kitchen probably doesn't count, I'd say that Lula Cafe is my all-time favorite (and they have a great cookbook)! But there are so many amazing restaurants just in my neighborhood, let alone the whole city. Support small local restaurants and businesses!

Update (01/24): we’ve revised this article to add some new thoughts on working from home and dining out in Chicago.
