Sheren Bamberger is a Designer at VerdandBold and has been a member of the team for just over six years. Sheren received her Bachelor of Design—with a focus in Graphic Design—from the University of Illinois at Chicago, so she is the resident expert on both custom icon designs and the Chicago food scene. When she’s not helping create kick-ass presentation at VerdanaBold, you can find Sheren on the Metra train listening to podcasts and music on her way back to the suburbs.
When she’s not helping create kick-ass presentations at VerdanaBold, you can find Sheren at a live wrestling event or updating her Letterboxd with a new movie review.

What do you most pride yourself on in your presentation design work for VerdanaBold?
I always feel really proud seeing the before and after of a slide or deck I’ve worked on, because I get to see how much we’ve helped our clients better communicate their ideas with an audience.
What is your favorite thing about working at VerdanaBold?
Something I love about working at VerdanaBold is the variety of design work I get to do: sometimes it’s a print piece, other times it’s a huge keynote presentation. The variety in both project type and client size keeps things interesting and lets me access different aspects of creativity.
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? (or) What is your favorite project you’ve worked on at VerdanaBold?
I find making custom icons for clients to be really rewarding because it’s an exercise in expressing both the brand and the idea of the icon itself. The process of making the holiday card and gifts was also a really great experience, because I was able to work on them from ideation to assembly—and it was an opportunity to show appreciation to our great clients!
What are your best tips for productivity when working from home?
The best way for me to stay productive is having a podcast or music (movie soundtracks are great), it weirdly helps me stay focused with something on in the background.
What is your favorite restaurant in Chicago?
Lou Malnati’s (because we can’t talk about food in Chicago without talking about pizza). Also check out Monkey King Jianbing, the location is a bit hidden but the jianbing (basically a Chinese crepe) are filling, and the lemon tea is very refreshing.
At what store would you like to max your credit card out?
Barnes & Noble or Blick Art Supplies
What is your secret talent that no one knows about?
I have built an insufferably encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture. Movies, tv, celebrity gossip, pro-wrestling – I like to learn and know all of it!
Update (02/24): we’ve revised this article to reflect some changes in the 7 years since Sheren joined our team!
